Consular Invoice – The Embassy's Stamp! 🏛️

This is the most "Official" invoice.

Process:

  1. Exporter prepares the invoice.
  2. He takes it to the Embassy (Consulate) of the Importing Country located in his own country.
  3. The Consul signs and stamps it (for a fee).

Example:

  • You are exporting to Brazil.
  • You go to the Brazilian Consulate in Mumbai.
  • They stamp your invoice.
  • Now it is a Consular Invoice.

Purpose 🎯

  1. Accuracy: The Consul verifies the value before goods leave the country.
  2. Speed: When goods reach Brazil, Customs officers see the stamp and clear it fast ("Our man already checked it").
  3. Data: Helps the importing country track trade statistics.
Is it mandatory?

Not for all countries. Only some (mostly Latin American and Middle Eastern) countries demand it. It is expensive and time-consuming!
